How many children attend on a daily basis?
Our numbers vary from centre to centre but typically between 20-50 children attend on a daily basis. Includes: Breakfast, Afterschool and Weekend.
How many staff work with the children each day?
We have 30 staff across 3 provisions. Children work with multiple staff during their experience.
What is the club’s adult to child ratio for under 8s / over 8s?
Our groups consist of 4-6 children.
How many of the staff have childcare or playwork qualifications?
Majority of our staff have child care/educational qualifications.
Is the club run directly by a school or by a separate organisation?
Our clubs are privately run as Aspire Learning Centres & Childcare.
Are all of the club’s staff DBS checked?
Yes
Does anyone else use the building at the same time as the club?
Our provisions are for the exclusive use of our registered children.
Do the children have access to outdoor play space?
Yes all of our centres have outdoor provisioning
What activities are available and can the children choose what they do?
Our activities range from taught lessons in English, Maths and Science. Foundation subjects such as Art and Design, IT, fun games and activities.
What food and drink are provided, and can the children serve themselves?
Children must be served by an adult. We offer cereal, juices, biscuits, toast, Hi Tea and occasion treats on celebratory occasions.
Can the club accommodate special dietary requirements?
We accommodate allergies, vegetarian and halal options.
How many trained first aiders does the club have on site each day?
Typically, 2-3
How far in advance do I need to book my child in?
Minimum 48 Hours’ Notice
Can I book for ad hoc sessions?
Subject to availability.
What happens if I am late collecting?
You will be given 2 warnings followed by a £5 fine.
What happens if I need to get someone else to collect my child one day?
This must be agreed with management.
What happens if my child falls ill or has an accident at the club?
First Aid will be administered and you will be informed immediately.
Is the club Ofsted registered? If not, why not?
Our provisions are Ofsted registered and 2 of them were Ofsted inspected during October 2020. They had achieved compliance in all 12 areas in relation to the Ofsted guidelines.
If the club is not on a school site, how are the children transported to the club?
Our provisions are privately located. We have a fully operating minibus fleet which can arrange collection and drop off where necessary. This can be from school, home or your place of work, this is subject to availability and must be arranged in advance with management.
How does the club help new children to settle in?
We offer taster sessions and reduced times to enable children to adapt to the staff, children and learning environment.
Do there appear to be a good range of toys and activities available and are they readily accessible to the children?
We have outstanding examples of resources to enable the children to have an enriched experience at Aspire Learning Centres & Childcare.
Ask to take a look at the toilets – are they clean and presentable?
Our toilets and wash room facilities are checked and cleaned on a frequent basis.
Observe the interactions between staff and children – are the staff approachable?
Our network of 30 staff is fast growing to meet the ongoing demand and growth of Aspire Learning Centres & Childcare. Our recruitment and selection process ensures we only select the best practitioners and provide the appropriate training and development where necessary.
How do the children interact with each other?
We provide opportunities for children to develop their speaking and listening skills alongside their social skills. They are encouraged to develop strong friendships in a caring and nurturing environment.
